Reimagined Landscapes “Memories of Being” to Rise to Flow to Set to Be This series presents reimagined landscapes—quiet meditations stitched from memory, geography, and longing. Each piece is created using threads spun from old maps: of places once known, lived in, traveled through, displaced from, or deeply longed for. These cartographic fragments—collected over time—form a delicate mélange of histories, layered together through slow stitching to render landscapes that are not defined by borders, but by coexistence, multiplicity, and connection. These landscapes do not represent specific locations. Instead, they evoke a sense of place that transcends identity or nationality—inviting the viewer to rest in the essence of being rather than the category of belonging. They are informed by the cycles of nature: the rise and fall of a day, the change of seasons, the rhythms of light and shadow. This work seeks to tap into the innocence of nature, its quiet being, and its intrinsic interconnectedness. It emerges from the inner tension between the desire to belong and the awareness that belonging may not be fixed to a singular place. Instead of asking “Where?” or “Which country?” these landscapes invite a gentler question: Can we simply see—and be—with what is?
